You have been writing blog posts now for a few months and you are not seeing any increased traffic, and I am guessing you are starting to get annoyed and disappointed. You are wondering should you carry on writing a blog?
Short Answer – YES you need to carry on writing that blog!
But seriously there is no quick way to get free traffic and blogging isn’t a quick fix. It’s definitely a long game that builds momentum over time.
There are a million reasons why you need to carry on with your blog writing, but I am going to cover a few main ones today that I think will help you see why traffic is our long term goal, but it is not the only goal when it comes to blogging.
#1. Credibility.
Having a blog with lots of information is a great way to build your credibility. As a business person it shows that you are knowledgeable in your field, that you care about your business and that you take time to inform and educate your customers.
If you stop blogging does that tell your customers that you are no longer interested in your business? Well I think to some extent it does. There is nothing worse that seeing a blog that has cobwebs on it when the business is still open.
#2. For your Readers
Remember why you started blogging in the first place. I presume it was to get traffic to your website, but also it was to inform and educate your customers. You wanted to give them the information that they were looking for, answer their questions and be useful.
This all helped them to trust you more and buy into your services. So why would you want to stop helping your readers? You wouldn’t would you?
#3. Build your Website
There is no doubt that a website with more pages is going to rank better than a site with only one page. It’s just FACT. So the more pages you have answering your customer questions the better it is for your business.
The more chance you give your ideal customers to find you on Google the better it is for bookings!
Keep adding valuable content and the traffic will come. It just takes time – remember the saying Rome Wasn’t Build In A Day!
REMEMBER – It took me 18 months to build my traffic to my website. So hang in there!

One thought on “Should I Carry On Writing A Blog If I Don’t Have Many Blog Readers?”
I often struggle with what to write about on my blog, so I’ve just decided to go with what I know. I think sometimes we put pressure on ourselves to be an “expert” and don’t realize that things that seem like second nature to us are not obvious to everyone! My clients ask me all the time how I’m able to get a skittish cat to come around and let me pet her.
