5 Ways You Should Be Marketing Your Pet Business During Covid-19

Market Pet Business

In my last blog post I talked about how it was important to market your business during these uncertain times and keep top of mind with your customers and potential customers.

Today I want to run through 5 key activities that you should focus on now while you have some extra time – whether that is 20 mins a day or 4 hours a day.

Just imagine if you did one thing every day to market your business during the next 30-90 days what a difference it would make to your business.

5 Ways You Should Be Marketing Your Pet Business During Covid-19

#1. Website

Most of us can probably do some updates on our website. Often we write the pages on our website when we start our business and then rarely go back to update them.

Maybe they need new photos, testimonials adding to them, a total refresh of the content to make your uniqueness stand out – whatever it is you now have the time to look over them and make sure a potential customer reading those pages if left in no doubt that you are the business for them!

I would suggest looking at the following pages first:

  • About Us
  • Services
  • Team
  • How To Book

#2. Blog Posts

If you know me well you will know I am a huge blogging fan. I strongly believe your blog posts are one of your biggest assets and that investing time in them will bring big rewards.

Take some time now to answer those customer questions, write about your local area and help people with their current situation.

Maybe more of your customers are working from home now and they are struggling with what to do to keep their dog entertained. Or maybe they need ways to keep themselves entertained – like baking for their pets!

There are so many different topics you could write about to help people now and to educate potential customers when they are ready to use your services.

#3. Social Media

People are spending a lot more time on social media at the moment. So it’s a great opportunity for you to engage with them and make sure you stay top of mind when it comes to them needing services again.

You should be sharing fun and engaging posts with them.

Things like:

  • Requesting they share photos of their pets
  • Inspiration Quotes
  • Funny Memes
  • Useful Articles/Blog Posts
  • Fun Polls

Make it fun, engaging and shareable. The more people you can connect with now the better.

#4. Customer Communication

Lets not forget our customers – we want to make sure that they know we are thinking of them and that we care about them. This is a unusual time for everyone and I am sure they would appreciate a quick hello from you.

One way to keep in touch is to send out a weekly newsletter – share the blogs you have been writing, the news you have been reading (fun pet news) and generally just offer some words of support and encouragement.

Many of them will appreciate the communication from you.

#5. Relaunch Plan

We are all counting the days until we can re open our businesses – so now is the time to have all the things you need ready.

Make sure you have emails written ready to go out to tell people you are open.

Have a list of people you want to contact to get them back on the schedule

And consider what blogs and social media posts you want to share.

You might also need additional supplies for reopening – inline with whatever precautions you need to put in place.

Being prepared for re opening will save you stressing writing last minute emails and wondering who to contact first.

And remember….Just imagine if you did one thing every day to market your business during the next 30-90 days what a difference it would make to your business.
